I don’t know if this is out there, but we’re a BIG dog family.

We used to have a beautiful labradoodle named Rez. Rez was with us for almost 12 years before we had to say goodbye this summer. He was such a big part of our lives, and I still keep some mementos of him in my office

Now, we have another incredible dog, Blu, that we got our son, Canon, as a birthday gift when he turned four. Blu is a Bernedoodle and has a funny naming story, actually.

When we first got him we put a bunch of potential names in a hat. Canon dropped "Blu" in the hat and that's what we ended up choosing.

Here's the funny part — Canon had said Blu because that was the color of the puppy's eyes. They were a translucent blue. Now, over two years later, they've changed to a deeeep blue that's almost brown. So, Blu has almost-brown eyes, chocolate fur with white patches, and... a mismatched (but still perfect) name.

We wouldn't have it any other way — Blu's name feels just right and so does having him as part of our family.
